Carol Mae Rottmann, 85, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on June 30, 2017.
She was born December 27, 1931 in Waukegan, IL to Mason and Leta Davison. She graduated from Waukegan Township High School in 1949. She married the love of her life, Thomas Rottmann on March 18, 1950. Later in her life, Carol received her Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education from the College of Lake County.
Carol is survived by her children Susan (Ivan) Swanson, Rick (Cheryl) Rottmann, Joe (Kathy) Rottmann and Ken (Rhonda) Rottmann. Her grandchildren; Ryan (Sarah) Benkowski, Andrew (Brittany) Swanson, Kathryn Swanson, Elizabeth Rottmann, Vicki Rottmann, Amanda (Keith) Longworth, Melyssa Rottmann, Nicky Kelver, Megan Kelver, Michael Rottmann and Mallory Rottmann; along with 11 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Joyce (Jim) Halsell of Jessieville, AR and nephew Earl (Sherry) Hucker.
Carol was preceded in death by her husband Tom, infant son David and her parents.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon, with services beginning at 12:00 noon on Saturday, July 8, 2017 at Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Rd. Zion, IL 60099. Interment will follow at Northshore Garden of Memories, North Chicago, IL. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to United Methodist Church 600 College Ave. Winthrop Harbor, IL 60096.
