Charlene "Char" Bryan, 63, of Zion, IL, passed away on Tuesday, September 28, 2010, at Vista Medical Center East in Waukegan.
Charlene was born November 23, 1946, in Chicago, IL, and graduated from Resurrection High School in 1965. She married Robert A. Bryan on October 1, 1966, in Harwood Heights, IL. Charlene retired from the Special Education District of Lake County after 27 years of employment. Along with her husband Bob, and daughter, Laura, she was a volunteer with Zion ESDA for more than 10 years. Charlene was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend to everyone she knew. Char always knew how to enjoy her life and her smile and her laughter were contagious and will be missed by all.
Survivors include her husband of 44 years, Robert; daughters, Laura (John) Anderson of Zion and Sandra (Bruce) Wimer of Antioch, IL; grandchildren, Elisha, Aaron, Christopher, Jordan, Cera Jane, Melissa, and Brian; sister, Linda (Edmund) DuBois of AR; brother, James (Mary) Kawa of MO; brother-in-law, James (Rosalee) Bryan of TX; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her son, Eric Bryan in 1967; and father and mother, Stanley and Marcella Kawa.
A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, October 5, 2010, at 10:00 a.m. at Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Rd. Zion. Interment is private for the family. Visitation will be Monday, October 4, 2010 from 5:00-9:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
