Charles “Chuck” Tweedy, 80, of Zion, IL died on Sunday, July 19, 2015 at Vista East Medical Center in Waukegan.
He was born January 7, 1935 in Spokane, WA. He served 22 years with the United States Navy, retiring in 1974 at Great Lakes. He was employed by Dexter Midland Co. of Waukegan, Sheridan Health Care Center of Zion, and retired from Lake Cook Terrace Nursing Home in Northbrook, IL.
Survivors include his wife of 38 years, Sandra; children Robyn Arango of Fox Lake, IL, SiDonnie (Mike) Cronk of Gurnee, IL, Cindy Dodson of Zion, IL, DeAnna Dodson of Racine, WI, Kenneth (Nancy) Tweedy of Burlington, WI, Colleen (Bob) Marjala of Zion, IL, Jeremy (Jen) Tweedy of Winthrop Harbor, IL, and Kristin (Arthur) Pompy of Zion, IL; honorary daughter Tina “Tuna” Gaspar of Kenosha, WI; 33 ½ grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; one brother Ronald “Ronnie” Tweedy of Spokane, WA; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Perry and Essie Tweedy; sons-in-law Mark Dodson and Thomas Dodson; sisters Mabel (and the late Howard) Strick, Marilyn (and the late Bob) Lystad, and Maribele (and the late Norvan Bisson; brothers Raymond Tweedy, Olie Tweedy, Joe Tweedy, and Robert Tweedy; grandson Jonathon Arango; and granddaughter Arianna Montgomery.
Visitation will be Wednesday, July 22, 2015, from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the CONGDON FUNERAL HOME, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion, IL. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 23rd , at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Sunset Ridge Cemetery, Kenosha, WI.
