Charles James Worthington passed away on April 27, 2007 at Vista Medical Center East in Waukegan, Illinois. He was born September 19, 1940 in Waukegan and was employed at Lake County Health Department as a case manager for 25 faithful years. Charles was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, son and brother. He leaves to cherish his life his loving and devoted wife, Avie; two sons, Carlos of Milwaukee, Wisconsin and Alonzo Cooper of Chicago, Illinois; two daughters, Rebecca and Theresa both of Zion, Illinois; four grandchildren Julius, Andrea, Janelle and Joseph all of Zion; his mother Eloise Worthington of Zion; six sisters Rebecca (Leon) Miles of North Chicago, Illinois, Patricia Worthington of Zion, Illinois, Delores (Stanley) Pruitt of Oklahoma, Evelyn (Namon) Hales of Hazel Crest, Illinois, Michelle Haskins of Hoffman Estates, Illinois and Audrey Worthington of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; five brothers Marvin Worthington of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Robert (Erin) Worthington of Gurnee, Illinois, Lloyd Worthington of Arizona, William Worthington of League City, Texas and Michael (Valerie) Worthington of Zion, Illinois; his mother-in-law Loretta Rodriguez of the Philippines; two sisters-in-law Marylou (Ben) Gonzales of Ohio and Eva Rodriguez of Waukegan, Illinois; two brothers-in-law Tony (Belma) Rodriguez of Georgia and Jose (Annie) Rodriguez of the Philippines; a very dear friend Ms. Shirley (Bill Duncan) Cooper of North Chicago, Illinois; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his father Roy Worthington; two sisters; one brother; one sister-in-law; and one nephew. Visitation will be Friday, May 4, 2007, from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the CONGDON FUNERAL HOME, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 5th, at 10:30 a.m., at the Congdon Funeral Home with Rev. Percy L. Johnson ,officiating, from Greater Faith Church Baptist ini Waukegan, IL.. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Memorial Park, Zion.
