Cindy A. Bittner, 54, of Pleasant Prairie, WI, formerly of North Chicago, IL, passed away on Friday, September 16, 2011, at home, remaining strong in her faith while fighting an uphill battle with cancer.
Cindy was born December 15, 1956, in Waukegan, IL, and graduated from North Chicago High School in 1974. She was employed by Abbott Laboratories for about 15 years and then worked at the Winthrop Harbor VFW where she was also a member. Cindy was a loving, daughter, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt.
Her favorite hobbies were baking and working on jigsaw puzzles.
Survivors include her children, Patrick "P.J." (Debbie) Boyland of Zion, IL, Katie Boyland of Antioch, IL, and Raymond Rajuniec of Winthrop Harbor, IL; grandchildren, Rowen, Logan, Merrick, and Willow Boyland, Kyleigh Boyland, and Caleb Lincicome;mother, Marilynn Bittner of Pleasant Prairie, WI; sisters, Linda (Steve) Johnson of Wisconsin Dells, WI, Kathy (Nelson ) Flood of Pleasant Prairie, WI, and Karen (Ernie) Roberts of Zion, IL. Also surviving are nephews, Richard Lindstrom and Richard Leonowitz; niece, Jamie Gearig; nephews, Eric Roberts and Jim Leonowitz; niece, Tara Roberts; and nephew, Ryne Cooper; and many close friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, Richard Bittner.
A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, September 20, 2011, at 7:00 p.m. at Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Rd., Zion, IL . Friends may greet the family on Tuesday from 5:00 p.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
