Clayton Cole Jr., 87, of Kenosha, Wisconsin, died on Friday, April 2, 2010 at Grand Prairie Rehabilitation Center in Kenosha.
Clayton was born July 22, 1922 in Pinkstaff, Illinois, had lived in Zion since 1950, and moved to Kenosha in 1987 after retiring from American Motors in 1985. He was a member of Christ Community Church of Zion. Clayton was a Veteran of WWII, having served with the United States Army in the South Pacific. He was also a member of the Outdoor Sportsman's Club and an avid fisherman.
Survivors include his two sons, Michael Cole of Kenosha, Wisconsin and Mark (Joann) Cole of Toledo, Ohio; one grandson, Austin Cole; siblings, Marion (Muriel) Cole of St. Louis, Missouri, Betty Speed of Madison, Alabama, James (Marilyn) Cole of Piscataway, New Jersey, and Jack (Lenora) Cole of Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Melberta in 1993; two brothers, Paul Cole and Bob Cole; one sister, Dorothy Shinault; and his parents, Clayton Sr., and Cassie Cole.
Visitation will be Wednesday, April 7, 2010, from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the CONGDON FUNERAL HOME, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion, Illinois. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 8th, at 10:30 a.m. at Christ Community Church, 2500 Dowie Memorial Drive, Zion, with Pastor Ken Langley officiating. Entombment will follow at Mt. Olivet Memorial Park, Zion.
