Clova Holverson

Clova Elaine Holverson, 88, of Zion, died on Tuesday, January 8, 2008 at Vista Medical Center East in Waukegan. Clova was born June 15, 1919, in Clovis, New Mexico, and graduated from Waukegan High School. On April 6, 1938, she married Vernon Holverson. She was a lifelong member of Memorial United Methodist Church in Zion, where she taught Sunday School for many years and belonged to the United Methodist's Church Women's Circle. Clova was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She also loved to crochet. She is survived by six children, Kenneth Holverson of Gurnee, Kathryn (Thomas) Mattice of Wendell, ID, V. Glen (Sandra) Holverson of Cookeville, TN, Carl Holverson of Zion, IL, Thomas (Deidra) Holverson of Winthrop Harbor, IL, and Jeanna (Ronald) Kinnick of Milladore, WI; grandchildren, Deborah (John) Jastrom, Scott (Darcy) Holverson, Ruth (Scott) Gauss, Jeff (Jeannette) Holverson, K. Erik Holverson, Mark (Diane) Holverson, Matthew (Kimberly) Kinnick, Stacy Linna, Timothy and Julia Kinnick, and Brett Holverson; 12 great-grandchildren; brothers, Lowell Hauenstein and Carroll (Mary Lou) Hauenstein, both of Zion, IL; brother-in-law, Delmer Holverson of Zion; and numerous nieces and nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon Holverson, in 1985; brother-in-law, Lee Holverson; and daughter-in-law, Diann Holverson, in 1999. Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, January 12, 2008 at 4:00 p.m. at Memorial United Methodist Church, 2935 Sheridan Rd., Zion, with Rev. Paul Gerardy officiating. Friends may greet the family on Saturday from 3:00 p.m. until the time of services at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggested to Memorial United Methodist Church.
