Dave Regel, 75, of Winthrop Harbor, IL died on Tuesday, April 23, 2013, at home. He was born February 27, 1938 in Grandville, MI. After graduating from Grandville High School, he came to this area at the age of 18 to join the Electrical Union IBEW#150. He retired in 1998. Dave was an active member of Z-B Moose Lodge #667, was an active member of Waukegan Bowmen Archery Club, and belonged to Anchor & Ark Masonic Lodge #1027, A. F. & A. M. Dave was an avid hunter and outdoorsman. Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Margie; children Nadine (Mark) Thorn of Zion, IL, David A. Regel of Zion, IL, Kathleen Regel of Gilbert, AZ, and Tony Regel of Winthrop Harbor, IL; three grandchildren Luke (Angie Morrison) Thorn, Matthew Thorn, and Paul (fiancé Jenny Dye) Thorn; one great-grandson Payton; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents Albert and Gertrude Regel; two brothers Max and Ronnie Regel; and one sister Shirley Myers. Visitation will be Saturday, April 27, 2013, from 9:00 until 11:00 a.m. at the CONGDON FUNERAL HOME, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion, IL, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Memorial donations to Waukegan Bowmen Archery Club have been suggested.
