David Hammond

1927 — January 9, 2015

David Hammond, 87, went home to be with his Lord on Friday, January 9, 2015. David was a lifelong member of Christ Community Church of Zion. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was employed at NOSCO in North Chicago and later became a lithograph salesman. He is survived by his children David (Jeanne) Hammond, Jr. of Jacksonville, FL and Pat (Lino) Martínez of Wadsworth, IL; four grandchildren Michael (Kristen) Martínez, Justin (Sarah) Hammond, Jennifer (Tom) Mietus, and Lindsey Hammond; and five great grandchildren, all of whom loved him dearly. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Darlene; his siblings, Ruth DeRohan and Bud Hammond; and his parents John and Madeline Hammond. Visitation will be Saturday, January 17, 2015 from 9:00 until 11:00 a.m. at Christ Community Church, 2500 Dowie Memorial Dr., Zion. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 a.m. at Christ Community Church with Pastor Ken Langley officiating. Entombment will follow at Mt. Olivet Memorial Park, Zion.
