David James Kleineschay, 89, of Waukegan, IL passed away on December 6, 2011 in Waukegan.
He was born April 25, 1922 in Prentice, WI to Walter and Althea Kleineschay. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 60 years, Betty Jewell, and his brother, George. He was a member of Lakeview Church of Zion and former member of Village Church of Gurnee. He enjoyed singing in the choir and duets at church. He served in the United States Navy during WWII and was honorably discharged in 1946. His early years were spent farming in Wisconsin. After he married he settled in Oconomowoc, WI and worked for Carnation Company and raised his family. He moved to Waukegan in 1967 and retired from Abbotts. He was a beloved husband, father, and grandfather.
He is survived by two sons, James of Waukegan and Phil (Kwanrithai) of Maple Grove, MN; one daughter, Cheryl (Al) O'Dette of Gurnee; 7 grandchildren, Detra (Rich) Conley, Roxanne (Kevin) Michels, Christy (Tom) Langley, Brian (Becca) O'Dette all of Gurnee, Trevor, Austin, and Ben Kleineschay of Maple Grove, MN; and 6 great-grandchildren, James Glogovsky III, Mallorie, Amanda and Nicholas Michels, Mitchell Reich and Gabriel O'Dette all of Gurnee, IL; his sister-in-law, Louise MacDonald of Zion, IL; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, December 9, 2011, from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. at the CONGDON FUNERAL HOME, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 p.m., Pastor Les Martin officiating. Interment will follow at Highland Memorial Park, Libertyville. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Lakeview Church of Zion.
