Deborah Lynn Brandt, 53, of Beach Park, died on Friday, December 7, 2007, at St. Catherine's Hospital in Kenosha. Deborah was born July 13, 1954, in Chicago, IL, and graduated from Southern Illinois University with a Masters in Administration of Justice and Social Work. She also was a member of Sigma Sigma Sigma Sorority at SIU. Deborah was a past employee of the state of Missouri, where she worked as a parole officer; she also worked for the Allendale Association and worked as a social worker for school districts in Lake County. Deborah also belonged to the Women of the Moose, Zion Chapter #859. She was a loving mother and grandmother. Deborah loved to crochet. Survivors include a son, Christian (Stephanie) Hoffman of Beach Park; daughters, Maleta (Joel) Brenner of Virginia and Sara Brandt of Kenosha, WI; granddaughter, Madison Brenner; father and mother, Glenn and Mary Jane Ohlson of Beach Park; sister, Barbara Scurto of Beach Park; brother, David (Karen) Ohlson of Grayslake, IL; brothers, Jeffrey Ohlson of Beach Park; brother, Phillip Ohlson of Waukegan; and brothers, Sidirow and Deion Ohlson, both of Beach Park; foster brothers, Kavaughn and Darryl; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, December 11, 2007, at 7:00 PM at Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Rd., Zion. Visitation will be from 4:00 PM until the time of service on Tuesday at the funeralhome. Interment is private for the family.
