Dennis "Bleeder" Holland, 52, of Zion, died on Friday, March 14, 2008. Dennis was born February 22, 1956 in Chicago, lived for many years in Fox Lake, Illinois and moved to Zion 18 years ago.
He was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church of Wadsworth. Dennis was employed for 30 years with Cardinal Health, holding various positions in McGaw Park and Midwest Distribution Center, all in Waukegan. He also loved nature, enjoyed being outdoors and was an avid fisherman and camper, but the love of his life was really his girls.
Survivors include his wife of 18 years, Lori; two daughters, Maggie Holland and Melissa Holland both at home; siblings, Debbie Tegelman of Wilmot, Wisconsin, Pam (John) Pocrnich of Florida, Tom (Cynthia) Jones of Arlington Heights, Illinois and Lonny (Yolanda) Jones of Texas; his mother-in-law June Paluckis of Waukegan; sisters-in-law, Pam (Tim) Miller of Winthrop Harbor, Judy (Russ) Hendrickson of Winthrop Harbor and Connie Schaerli of Gurnee; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence Holland and Margaret (nee Andersen) Holland.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 19, 2008, from 5:00 until 9:00 p.m. at the CONGDON FUNERAL HOME, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion, where a wake service will be held at 7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, trust fund is being established for his two daughters.
