Dennis E. Lueck, 71, of Zion, IL went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on September 30, 2015 at Highland Park Hospital in Highland Park, IL, surrounded by his loving family.
Dennis was born January 2, 1944 in Laona, WI and graduated from Rhinelander High School. He married Julie Hill on June 5, 1965, a union which endured more than 50 years. Dennis is a member of Our Savior’s Evangelical Lutheran Church (Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod). He served his country admirably for 25 years as a Gunners Mate, Senior Chief in the United States Navy. In his Navy career, he was stationed in Norfolk, VA where he was on numerous Navy vessels. He was also stationed at US Naval Station Guantanamo Bay, Cuba and Great Lakes Naval Station. He is a member of the Fleet Reserve Association and a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association. Following his retirement from the Navy, Dennis worked for Carson Pirie Scott and Walgreens.
Survivors include his wife, Julie; children, Karen (Jim) Hamilton and Michael (Doreen) Lueck; Grandchildren, James (Trisha) Hamilton, Kevin Hamilton, Justine Hamilton, Katrina Hamilton, Samantha Lueck, and Savannah Lueck; great-grandchild Christopher Hamilton; and sister, Carol (Dennis) Gehrt.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Evard and Viola Lueck; and sister, Nancy Dietz.

A memorial service will be held Sunday, October 4, 2015 at 6:00 p.m. at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, 1800 23rd St, Zion, IL. Friends may greet the family from 2:00 p.m. until the time of service at the church.
