Diane Joy Galvan 75, of Zion, IL passed away on August 4, 2021 in Waukegan, IL. She was born on February 28, 1946 the daughter of Edward (Ann Ivanic) Lipson.
Diane lived in many places before settling in Zion, IL. She lived in Mannheim and Kitzingen Germany; Golden, Colorado; Killeen, Texas; and Fr. Sheridan, IL. She graduated high school from Richards Vocational in Chicago, IL. As well as attending College of Lake County. She was a member of Our Lady of Humility church in Beach Park, IL. She was also very active in Zion Benton American Legion Auxiliary 865 as a Member and Past Unit President, Past President of Department of Illinois American Legion Auxiliary 10th District, U.S. Army Community Service Volunteer Supervisor at Ft. Sheridan, IL from 1975- 1978. She also was a volunteer for Lake County Advocacy Center. Diane worked as a lunch program cashier at Elmwood Elementary School. Retired from Zion School District 6.
Diane is survived by her loving husband Anthony; children, Tony (Leslie Edwards) Jr. of Kenosha, WI; Dean of Pleasant Prairie, WI; Edward (Kim Walters) of Zion, IL; sisters Patricia (Floyd) Hawkin of San Tan Valley, Arizona; Carole (Peter) Jachimiec of Chicago, IL; nieces; Kimberly (Bruce) Skowronski of Gilbert, Arizona; Alexis (John) Nicpon of Lisle, Illinois; nephews, Thomas (Jan) Hawkins of Rensselear, Indiana; Dr. Nathan Jachimiec of San Jose, California; Nicholas Jachimiec of Chicago, Illinois.
She is preceded in death by her parents.
All services are private, Diane is laid to rest at Mt. Olivet Memorial Park Zion, IL.
