Don Cone

Don Cone, 68, of Zion, IL died on Friday, September 11, 2015 at The Grove At The Lake in Zion, IL. He was born November 20, 1946 in St. Charles, IL, grew up in Glen Ellyn, IL, and has resided in the Winthrop Harbor and Zion area for the past 18 years. He attended Beach Bible Church of Zion. Don was a strong believer in Jesus Christ and he enjoyed sharing his faith with others. Don was self employed as an electrician, did maintenance work in the area, and was skilled as an arborist doing tree maintenance. Don also loved the outdoors and spent time on the lake front at Lake Michigan and he was an avid stamp collector. Survivors include three children Laura Remes and Dan Cone of Kaneville, IL and Michelle Henry-Pace of Centerton, AR; eight grandchildren; two sisters Sandra (Ken) Neal of Glen Ellyn, IL and Virginia (Stephen) Wilson of Hayward, WI; one sister-in-law Sterling Cone of Ashton, IL; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father and mother Frank and Lucille Cone; and by one brother Tom Cone. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 26, 2015, at 11:00 a.m., at Beach Bible Church, 3520 - 21st Street, Zion, IL with Pastor James Wychers officiating. Memorial donations to Beach Bible Church have been suggested.
