Donald C. Behnke

Donald C. Behnke, 84, of Waukegan, IL lost his battle to cancer at Vista Medical Center East on Monday, February 22, 2016. He was born on August 23, 1931 in Waukegan. He married Sophie DeGraff on January 13, 1962. He served in the United States Air Force from 1951 to 1955. Don retired from OMC in 1996 after 40 years of service. Besides his wife Sophie, he is survived by his sister-in-law, Ruth Behnke; and several nieces and nephews. Don was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Stella Behnke; five brothers, Herbert, Arthur, Raymond, Richard, and Norman; and two sisters, Florence and Shirley. Visitation will be held on Friday, February 26, 2016 from 9:00 until 11:00 a.m. at CONGDON FUNERAL HOME, 3012 Sheridan Rd., Zion. A funeral will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Chaplain John Davis officiating. Interment will follow at Northshore Garden of Memories, North Chicago.
