Donald J. Fraley, 61, loving father and grandfather, died suddenly at his home in Waukegan on March 23, 2007.
He was born May 7, 1945 at St. Therese Hospital in Waukegan to Homer and Grace Alice (nee Pennington) Fraley. Donald lived his entire life in Lake County and graduated from Zion-Benton Township High School. He was the owner/operator of D. Fraley Auto Brokers in Zion for 20 years and he retired from Abbott Laboratories in Abbot Park in 2006. He was also an avid hunter and fisherman. He was a member of the Alano Club of Waukegan where he had many friends which he considered his extended family. A friend, brother, father and grandfather, he was deeply loved and will be dearly missed.
Donald is survived by four sons Anthony (Vicki) Fraley of Trevor, Wisconsin, Richard (Joyce) Fraley of Gurnee, Michael (Karan) Fraley of Round Lake and Joseph Fraley of Waukegan; five grandchildren Nicholas, Michael, Shelby, Dylan and Cole; two brothers Greg Fraley of Wadsworth and Bill (Sandy) Fraley of Winthrop Harbor; and two sisters Gladys of Berea, Kentucky and Joan of Wadsworth.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister June; and one brother Eugene.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 28th, from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the CONGDON FUNERAL HOME, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion, where a memorial service will be held at 7:30 p.m., Rev. Edmund Boyce of Antioch officiating. Private interment will be held later at Ascension Cemetery, Libertyville. Memorial donations to the Alano Club, 2419 Washington, Waukegan, IL 60085 have been suggested.
