Donald Charles Mihaljevic of Salmon Idaho, died on March 27th 2012 in Highwood Illinois, after a long struggle with ALS. Don was an avid sportsman, master carpenter, and artisan.
Don was born on March 25th 1925 in Des Plaines Illinois to Nicholas and Lydia Mihaljevic (Beth). The family moved to Zion, IL in 1929. Don graduated from Zion-Benton High School in 1943 and later that year joined the US Army, where he served in the Quartermaster Corps. In Sept of 1944, Don was shipped to France, where he served through the end of the European conflict.
After the war, Don became a union Plasterer and worked for Dan Edwards and Baldwin plastering companies. In 1962, Don moved to Salmon Idaho, where he could enjoy the mountains and all that the outdoors could offer.
He is survived by his brother Norman (Lynda); sister Betty Kerner of Zion along with many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Nicholas and Lydia Mihaljevic, and his brother-in-law James Kerner.

Visitation will be from 9-11am, followed by a memorial service at 11am, on Saturday April 21st 2012 at the Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Road Zion, IL 60099. Don's final resting place will be at the Mount Olivet Cemetery in Zion IL.
