Donald L. Pitcher, 80, of Kenosha, WI died on Thursday, December 22, 2016 at home following a long illness surrounded by his loving family.
Don was born November 25, 1936 in Zion, IL and has lived in this area all of his life. He retired in 1984 after 30 years with Johnson Motors in Waukegan. Don was a member of Kenosha Moose Lodge #286, Kenosha, WI. He enjoyed fishing, especially at Rainy Lake, MN. Don was an avid Chicago Cubs and Bears fan. He also enjoyed bowling, dancing, and golf, but most of all he loved his grandchildren and family.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, June; children Donald (Jeanne) Pitcher Jr. of Winthrop Harbor, IL, Laura (Jeff) Yonke of Winthrop Harbor, IL, and Richard Pitcher of Des Moines, IA; four grandchildren Brianne Yonke, Hannah (Kurt) Hafferkamp, Chloe Yonke, and Danielle (Pete) Cherny; two brothers Atwood (Beverly) Pitcher of Zion, IL and James (Jeanne) Pitcher of Pleasant Prairie, WI; and a brother-in-law Robert Lehman of Zion, IL. Don was especially close with all of his in-laws, many nieces and nephews, and lifelong friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandson Donald Pitcher III; one sister Lila Lehman; and his parents Clark and Violet Pitcher.
Visitation will be Thursday, January 5, 2017, from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the CONGDON FUNERAL HOME, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion. A memorial service will be held on Friday, January 6, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at First United Methodist Church of Kenosha, 919 - 60th Street, Kenosha, WI. Memorial donations to either First United Methodist Church of Kenosha, or Alzheimer’s Association at www.alz.org have been suggested.
