Mrs. Donna Jackson, age 90, of Orange City, IA  passed away on Thursday, June 28, 2018, at the Prairie Ridge Care Center in Orange City.

Donna Mae was born on June 28, 1928, in Sioux City, the daughter of Albert and Hilda Johanna (Born) Winter.  She was raised in Sioux City, where she graduated from the Cathedral High School.  On February 7, 1948, she married Benn S. Jackson in Elizabeth, PA.  They lived all over North America, because he was a career military man.  He passed away on June 9, 1986, in Zion, IL.  In 2000, Mrs. Jackson moved to Orange City, IA.  In May of 2015, she became a resident of the Pioneer Memorial Home in Orange City, and on September 28, 2017, she transferred to Prairie Ridge.  She was a member of the Dover Avenue Alliance Church and the Pressman-Kosters American Legion Post Auxiliary, both in Orange City.  Donna had worked as a secretary at a school.  She enjoyed being a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Survivors include her daughter and her husband, Denise M. and Ron Nelson, of Worthing, South Dakota; a daughter-in-law, Gloria Jackson, of Orange City; three grandchildren, Jason (Heather) Jackson, of Sioux City; JoAnna (Josh) Scherer, of Washington, D. C.; and Jonathan Jackson, of Niceville, Florida; and eight great-grandchildren, Benjamin Gerrit Jackson, Carlee Mae Jackson, Madelyn Johanna Jackson, Jaylee Clarice Jackson, Bereket Jonathan Abdulkadir Jackson, Jinabo Zhu Stuart Jackson, Obadiah Jackson Scherer, and Jaye Cherith Jackson.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Jay Jackson.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, July 6, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Mt. Olivet Memorial Park, 1436 Kenosha Road, Zion, IL 60099.
