Dorleen L. Huisman, 81, of Zion, IL, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 24, 2011, at the Terrace Nursing Home, Waukegan, IL.
Dorleen was born February 27, 1930, in Kenton, Ohio. She married her late husband, Alfred Huisman on September 9, 1948. Dorleen was a former member of the Zion Revival Center in Zion. She had worked as a beautician, waitress, and as a cashier for Piggly Wiggly where she won cashier of the year several times. No one has ever had a better mom than you. Only God's heart could hold more love than your heart held for your children and family. Thank you mom for teaching us His love by letting it flow through you. All our love forever, until the circle is unbroken.
Survivors include two sons, Alan Huisman and James (Jill) Huisman, both of Zion; brother, Charles Moore of Waukegan, IL; sister, Dixie (Fred) Tedtman of Salem, WI; and cousins, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred; brother, Kenny Moore; daughter, Barbara Ann Huisman; and infant son, Richard Huisman.
A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, December 31, 2011, at 10:00 a.m. at Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Rd., Zion. Entombment will follow at Mt. Olivet Memorial Park, Zion. Visitation will be Friday, December 30, 2011, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial donations are suggested to the American Heart Association.
