Dorothy M. Bishop, 62, of Winthrop Harbor, Illinois, died on Monday, December 25, 2006 at St. Catherines Hospital in Kenosha, Wisconsin. Dorothy was born June 14, 1944 in Waukegan to the late Gerald and Anna (nee Freiderichs) Chapin. She attended Beach Bible Church in Zion. She retired in June of 2006 after 30plus years with State Farm Insurance, first in Waukegan with Harry Arrington and later in Gurnee for Jan Harastany. Dorothy enjoyed fishing and she loved Lake Michigan and the Great Lakes. Survivors include her husband of 24 years, Aaron; children Ron Ray of Florida, Robin (Jimmy) Helton and Laurie (Todd) Allen both of Atlanta, Georgia and Cory (Chris) Flament of Waukegan; step-children Charlotte (Roger) Miller of Salem, Wisconsin, Tony Bishop of Florida, Eric Bishop of Zion and Duane (Shannon) Bishop of Racine, Wisconsin; eleven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two sisters Beverly (Bill) Johnson of Sebring, Florida and Gladys (the late Theron) Boyce of Beach Park, Illinois; one brother Jerry "Butch Chapin of Tullahoma, Tennessee; and ten nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, December 28, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at Beach Bible Church, 3520 21st Street, Zion, with Pastor Mark Grayless, her nephew from Terra Haute, Indiana, officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the local Humane Society has been suggested.
