Dottie Clarkson Broadway

Dottie Clarkson Broadway, of Winthrop Harbor, IL, died November 1,2015, at age 70. Born December 13, 1944, in Amory, Mississippi to Helen Faye Owen and Cyril “Red” Clarkson, she moved to Zion, IL, at age 9. Dottie never met a stranger, always opened her heart and home to any and all whom she met. She loved to be surrounded by her family at all times-in both good and bad- as long as they were together. She liked bowling, camping, volunteering at local schools, baseball, softball, tennis, playing cards with friends, and cooking old fashion southern food. Her favorite holiday was Christmas, when she loved to give to everyone she knew. Dottie is survived by her husband Jim of 52 years; her daughter, Sue; her son, Jim; and four grandchildren, Nathaniel, Tyler, Ian, and Shiloh. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 4, 2015, from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Rd., Zion, IL. A Chapel Interment Service will be held on Thursday, November 5, 2015, at 10:00 a.m at Mt. Olivet Memorial Park, 1436 Kenosha Rd., Zion.
