Dwayne M. Crowell, 48, of Winthrop Harbor, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, November 14, 2007, at Condell Medical Center following a brief illness.
Dwayne was born December 18, 1958 in Fort Riley, Kansas and has lived in Zion the past 41 years. He was a member of Life Church of Gurnee. For the past eight years, he has worked at WE Energies in Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin and prior to that had worked for 17 years at the Commonwealth Edison power plant in Zion. Dwayne was an avid Harley-Davidson enthusiast, a Green Bay Packer fan and a Chicago Cubs fan. He also enjoyed fishing and golfing.
Survivors include his wife, Vickie; children, Christopher (Pam) Crowell of Beach Park, Nicole Crowell of Zion and Brett Crowell of Zion; his step-son, Ethan Walters of Arkansas; his father and mother, Lawrence "Larry" and Lois Crowell of Zion; siblings, David (Susy) Crowell of Tulsa, Oklahoma and DeAnne (John) Stolarik of Zion; and two nephews, Chad Crowell and Lucas Crowell both of Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Visitation will be Saturday, November 17, 2007, from 11:00 until 1:00 p.m. at the Christian Assembly of God Church, 2929 Bethel Blvd., Zion. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, November 17th, at 1:00 p.m. at the Church with Pastor Mark Roggensack of Life Church of Gurnee officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family has decided to honor Dwayne while giving to the ministry Dwayne loved the most. The Lord gave Dwayne a heart for missions work and we will honor him by asking that contributions be made to the World Missions Fund at Life Church in his memory, make checks payable to Life Church, P.O. Box 69, Gurnee, Illinois 60099.
