Earl Dillow Sr. of Barton Senior Residences, Zion, passed away September 22, 2012 at the age of 92.
Earl was born December 6, 1919 in Anna, Illinois. He married the late Mary Lou Berg on October 10, 1942 in Ft. Sheridan, IL. He and Mary Lou raised their family in Waukegan, IL before moving to Zion where they lived for 40 years. Earl retired as a Lieutenant from the Waukegan Fire Department after 23 years of service where he also served as the head of the fire prevention bureau. He then went on to work as the chief of security at St. Therese Hospital, then worked for American International Hospital in Zion. Earl also served 2 years overseas in World War II with the Army-Air Corps.
Earl is survived by his children Earl (Helen) Dillow Jr., and Mark (Patrice) Dillow; grandchildren Corrine (Pete) Clavey, Earl (Terri) Dillow III, Lawrence (Tammy) Dillow, Kevin, Kristin, and Justin Dillow, Mark Louis (Eileen) Dillow, Molly (Joshua) Smith, Maggie and Mary Dillow; great-grandchildren Jason (Leah) Dillow, Nicole Pheiffer, Andrew, Nathan, and Rebecca Dillow and Emmit Smith; great-great-grandchildren Mathew Dillow, and Brianna and Brooke Pheiffer; sisters Doris Bass and Sybil Dean.
He was preceded in death by his wife Mary Lou, son Jerry Dillow, and sister Mildred Boyd.
Services will be private for the family. Memorial donations may be made in Earl's memory to Barton Senior Residences, 3500 Sheridan Road, Zion, IL 60099.
