Edward V. Gamberale, 92, of Zion, died on Friday, March 14, 2008, at Arbor View Nursing Home in Zion. Edward was born June 10, 1915, in Chicago and married Antonette "Toni" Lentine on September 4, 1937, at St. Anastasia Church in Waukegan.
He was a founding member of Our Lady of Humility Church in Beach Park and was retired from Johnson Motors in Waukegan. Edward also was a former member of the Waukegan Moose Lodge. Years ago he played trombone for the Zion Junior Band. He also liked working with his hands. Edward was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
Survivors include his wife of 70 years, Antonette I. "Toni" Gamberale; daughters, Mary (Dennis) Moore of Gurnee, IL, and Judy (John) Ortlieb of Batavia, IL; grandchildren, Sheri Donaldson, Jan Stanislawski, John Zorzy, Michelle Zorzy, Kim Gamberale, Audra Baker, and John Ortlieb; great-grandchildren, Jimmy Stanislawski, Sgt. Erin Zorzy, Carl Zorzy, Tony Smejkal, Melanie Sine, Jimmy Pope, Kylie Hester, Jeffrey Baker, Logan Ortlieb; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Guy and Josephine Gamberale; son, Eddie in 1990; great-granddaughters, Jackie and Jennifer Stanislawski; brother, Rudy Gamberale; and sister, Gerry Gamberale.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, March 24, 2008, at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Humility Church, 10655 W. Wadsworth Rd., Beach Park with Father Jan Krutewicz officiating. Interment is private for the family. Friends may greet the family from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at the church.
