Edward Kaminske

Edward T. Kaminske Sr. 87, died on Sunday, October 22, 2006 at his home in Prescott, Arizona. Edward was born May 26, 1919 in Baltimore, Maryland the son of Thomas and Mary Kaminske. He proudly served his country during World War II. Edward had been a foreman in the receiving department at Abbott Laboratories prior to his retirement. He spent mos of his adult life in Round Lake Park, Illinois. He is still remembered as a avid slow pitch softball player in which he led his team to many league championships. He also enjoyed football, especially the Chicago Bears and the come from behind victory to remain unbeaten this year, a game he saw last Monday. He loved traveling and spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Prescott and St. Dismas Church in Waukegan. Survivors include his wife of 23 years, June; daughters Dorinda (Gerald) Kalk of Waukegan, Illinois, Deborah Ann Kaminske of Spotsylvania, Virginia and Kam Mary of Toluca Lake California; one son Edward Jr. (Sara) of Aliso Viejo, California; grandchildren Jeffrey, Bradley, Heath and Mark; and great-grandchildren Tiffany, Stephanie, Jacob, Hannah, Graysen, Jewell and Morgan. He was preceded in death by his first wife Letty in 1978. Visitation will be Sunday, October 29, 2006 from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the CONGDON FUNERAL HOME, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion, where a wake service will be held at 6:30 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be Monday, October 30th, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Dismas Catholic Church, 200 Sunset Avenue, Waukegan. Interment will follow at Ascension Cemetery, Libertyville. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to either the American Cancer Society, or, the American Heart Association.
