Edward Lange, 86, of Zion, Illinois, died on Tuesday, January 4, 2011 at Aurora Medical Center, Kenosha, Wisconsin.
Edward was born July 31, 1924 in St. Cloud, Minnesota, attended grade school and graduated from High School in Reedsburg, Wisconsin and moved to Zion in 1951. He was a Veteran of World War II having served with the United States Army. He retired in 1990 from Local 150, I.B.E.W. Edward was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church of Zion and in his spare time was a ham radio operator, holding an amateur extra class license.
Survivors include his children, Neal (Diane) Lange of San Antonio, Texas, Steve (Mary) Lange of Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin, Sue Eisenhower of Zion, Illinois and Scott (Tammy) Lange of Zion, Illinois; ten grandchildren, Jayson (Sarah) Lange, Matthew Lange, Danielle Lange, Steven (Heather) Lange, Christy (Rob) Selin, Heather Lange, Chad Lange, Todd Lange, Mike Eisenhower and Jackie Eisenhower; and seventeen great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, RaDein, on June 6, 2005; one brother, Darrold; one sister, Jean Ann; and his parents, Melville and Alida Lange.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 8, 2011, at 11:00 a.m. at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, 1800 23rd Street, Zion, Illinois, with Pastor Jack Kelly officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Memorial Park, Zion. Visitation will be Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until time of services at the Church. Memorial contributions to Our Savior's Lutheran Church have been suggested.
