Edward Stasaitis, 84, of Zion, IL died on Sunday, April 17, 2011 at Terrace Nursing Home in Waukegan.
Edward was born January 25, 1927 in Waukegan. He was a Veteran of W.W.II having served with the United States Army. He was a member of Pleasant Prairie Baptist Church and prior to that had attended Moody Bible Institute and Church. Edward retired from Johnson Motors, was a member of Christian Businessmen's Committee and was a longtime member of American Legion.
Survivors include nieces and nephews, Richard (Rhonda) Stasaitis of Beach Park, IL, Janet Beloungy of Evansville, WI, Carol Ann (Doug) Cowgil of Madison, WI, Thomas (Ginger) Stasaitis of Chicago, IL, David (Patricia) Stasaitis of Folsom, California, and Steven Stasaitis of Chicago, IL.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Anton and Minnie (nee Dumbrousky) Stasaitis; two brothers, Albert Stasaitis and Fred Stasaitis; and one niece, Patricia Guinn Thompson.
Visitation will be Saturday, 23, 2011, from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m. at the CONGDON FUNERAL HOME, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion, followed by a funeral service at 4:00 p.m., Rev. Ted Mall of Pleasant Prairie Baptist Church officiating. Private interment will be later at Mt. Olivet Memorial Park, Zion.
