Edythe McCulloch

Edythe McCulloch, 98, went peacefully to be with the Lord on October 20, 2009. She was born May 3, 1911 in Bradford England where she lived until age 3 when her parents moved to Canada for 6 months before moving to Zion, IL, where she resided most of her life. She was a member of the Christian Catholic Church and attended the Grace Missionary Church in Zion. She had been employed by the Zion Industries Cookie Division for a number of years. She is survived by three children, Elaine (Tim) Thomas of Conway, AR, Barbara (Clinton, deceased) Davis of Zion, IL, and Bob (Lerita) McCulloch of Wadsworth, IL; one sister-in-law, Ilene Hillam of San Jose, CA; 10 grandchildren, Kathy (Rick) Snyder of Thornton, CO, Gary (Karen) Thomas of Pleasant Prairie, WI, Terry (Kathy) Thomas of Beach Park, IL, Barbara (Michael) Eliason of Little Rock, AR, Douglas (Judy) Davis of Zion, IL, Susan (Michael) Wimmer of Libertyville, IL, Jeffrey (Linda) Davis of Brookfield, WI, Sharon, deceased (Leigh) Harrison of Champlin, MN, Cindy (Richard) Jensen of Wadsworth, IL, Christine (Allen) Town of Winthrop Harbor, IL, and Corbin (Rebecca) McCulloch of Gurnee, IL; 27 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren and many loving nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 69 years, John; her father and mother, Albert and Sarah Hillam; granddaughter, Sharon Harrison; great-grandsons, Aaron Richard Snyder and John Michael Davis; a sister, Sadye VanDien; brothers, Edward Hillam and Sydney Hillam, (2 yrs)., and son-in-law, Clinton Davis. She was a member of The Zion Woman's Club, The Ladies Quilting Group at Grace Missionary Church and The Share & Care Ministry of Grace Missionary Church. Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 26, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. at the CONGDON FUNERAL HOME, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion, with Pastor Douglas Carlson of Grace Missionary Church officiating. Entombment will follow at Mt. Olivet Memorial Park, Zion. Visitation will be Monday from 9:30 a.m. until time of services at the Congdon Funeral Home. Memorial donations to either ZEMA, or Grace Missionary Church have been suggested.
