Elise Andrekus

Elise Andrekus, 89, of Wadsworth, IL passed away Thursday, September 1, 2016 at Vista Medical Center East in Waukegan, IL. Elise was born July 16, 1927 in Evanston, IL, the daughter of late Frank and Lillian Hartman. She was an active member of York House United Methodist Church in Beach Park, IL. Elise was a member of the Gurnee Women’s Club, Elderberries, and University of Illinois extension in Grayslake. She strongly supported University of Kentucky and was employed at LRC Viking School in Gurnee. Elise is survived by her two children, Frank (Jean) Andrekus of Zion, IL and Charlotte Krueger of Beach Park, IL; daughter-in-law, Patti Andrekus; five grandchildren, Kamee Andrekus, Dalein (Ray) Allen, Christopher (Avita) Gandy, Jessica (Andrew) Ross, and Neil Krueger; ten great-grandchildren; sister, Margot Wicklander; and many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Adolph; son, George; son-in-law, Bill Krueger; sister, Betty (Jack) Kelleher; and brother-in-law, Bob Wicklander. Visitation will take place Thursday, September 8, 2016 from 5:00 until 6:00 p.m. at Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Rd., Zion, IL. A funeral service will follow at 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be private for the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the York House United Methodist Church would be appreciated in her memory.
