Elitda M. Cabana, age 71, of Kenosha, WI, passed away on Tuesday, October 23, 2012, at Aurora Medical Center, Kenosha, WI.
Elitda was born February 1, 1941, in Ipswich, South Dakota and married Jim Cabana on October 11, 1986, in Kenosha. She was an employee of Society Assets in Kenosha. Her main vocation in life was caring for the needy and elderly. She was also an excellent homemaker. Elitda delighted in family time, especially during the holidays.
Survivors include her husband of 26 years, Jim; children, James (Janice) Erickson of Waukegan, IL, Charles (Cathy) Erickson of Kenosha, WI, Kenneth (Chris) Erickson of Winthrop Harbor, IL, and Tammy (Kelly) O'Donnell of Pleasant Prairie, WI; step-children, Leah and Jimmy of Massachusetts, and Lisa of New York; 13 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews and other family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jacob and Margaret Huft; daughter, Margaret Clauson; sons, Michael and Harold Erickson; granddaughter, Cassie Erickson; brothers, Harold and Eugene Huft; and sons-in-law, Todd Harvey and Brian Clauson.
Visitation will be Sunday, October 28, 2012, from 3:00-6:00 p.m. at Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Rd., Zion, IL. with a funeral service at 6:00 p.m. An interment service will be held on Monday, October 29, 2012, at 10:00 a.m. at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 21731 Spring St., Union Grove, WI. Memorial donations are suggested to the Children of Fallen Soldiers.
