Eloise Welton Daydif, lifelong resident of Waukegan and more recently Victory Lakes, passed away suddenly in Libertyville on Thursday, April 26, 2007 at the age of 93.
Her husband of 63 years, Karl Daydif, predeceased her in 1997. Survivors include her daughter, Karen Louise Shuler of San Jose, California; son, Bruce (Susan) Daydif of Antioch; grandsons Gregory Karl Lester of San Bruno, California, Gary Kent Lester of San Mateo, California and Randall Eric Shuler of San Jose, California; great-grandson, Matthew Karl Lester of San Bruno, California; sister Dorothy (Ralph) Welton Miller of Zion; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Eloise's great love of books and people was fulfilled as a librarian with the Waukegan Public Library for 21 years and as a volunteer librarian at Waukegan Historical Society. She was a member for many years of PEO, Chapter AP. She was a leader and during her 93 years she served as Emblem Club President, Young Women's League President, Glen Flora School PTA President and worked diligently on the Alter Guild and St. Mary's Guild at Christ Episcopal Church of Waukegan during her 60-year membership.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, April 30th, at 11:00 a.m. at Chain O'Lakes Community Bible Church in Lake Villa. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Christ Episcopal Church of Waukegan, PEO Chapter AP to support scholarships at Cottey College, or a specific cause that is of special significance to you.
