Elsie Ryser, 98, of Zion, died Monday, January 19, 2009 at her home.
Elsie was born March 29, 1910 in Breslau, Germany and immigrated to the United States in 1929 to live in Chicago. She married Adolph Ryser of Chicago in 1932, and they moved to Zion in 1947 where she was involved in farming.
Survivors include two sons, Fred (Pat) Ryser of Ft Walton Beach, FL, and Frank (Bonnie) Ryser of Glenview, IL; one daughter, Susan Bennett of Zion, IL; her daughter-in-law, Barbara Ryser of Lake Forest, IL; six grandchildren, Ron (Kathy) Ryser, Bonnie-Ann (Wm.) Hartwig, Chris (Claudia) Bennett, Tim (Carolyn) Bennett, Robert Ryser and Max Ryser; and four great-grandchildren, Jonathan and Elizabeth Ryser and William and Liesel Hartwig.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Adolph Ryser in 1952; and by one son, Werner Ryser in 2008.
Visitation will be Wednesday, January 21, 2009, from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the CONGDON FUNERAL HOME, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion. Interment will be Thursday, January 22nd, at 11:30 a.m. at Memorial Park Cemetery in Skokie, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to House of Good Shepherd in Chicago have been suggested.
