Ernesto J. Hinayhinay, 79, of Zion, died on Friday, August 3, 2007, at Lake Forest Hospital in Lake Forest.
Ernesto was born August 4, 1927, in Iloilo, Phillippines, and married Marietta Deang on December 23, 1962, in the Phillippines. He was a retiree from the United States Navy, having served in Korea and Viet Nam. Ernesto was also retired from the Solo Cup Corporation in Highland Park, where he was employed for 16 years. He was a member of the American Legion and the Fleet Reserve Association. Ernesto was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He loved gardening and traveling, and particularly enjoyed watching televised boxing on Saturday nights.
Ernesto is survived by his wife of 44 years, Marietta; daughters, Arlene (Robert) Lopez, Thresa (Ronald) Griffin, and Joyce Hinayhinay, all of Zion; grandchildren, Robby, Jeremy, Riley, Ian, and Aimee; sisters, Rosela Materior, Monsersatt Hervias, Lina Hinayhinay, and Remedios Benedicto , all of Iloilo Phillippines; and numerous nieces and nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Valeriano and Porferia Hinayhinay; brother, Romeo Hinayhinay; and three sisters.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, August 8, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Humility Church, 10655 W. Wadsworth Rd, Beach Park, IL. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Memorial Park, Zion. Visitation will be Wednesday, from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services at the church.
