Esther Helman

Esther Helman, 90, of Waukegan, Illinois, died on Wednesday, March 7, 2007 at Rolling Hills Manor Nursing Home in Zion. Esther was born October 10, 1916 in Kenosha, Wisconsin and has lived in Waukegan most of her life. She lived for her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and her extended family. Survivors include her daughter, Christine Ruotsi of Beach Park, Illinois; three grandchildren, Erik (Denyse) Ruotsi, Kirstan (Ty) Nelson and Ted (Sharon) Ruotsi; six great-grandchildren, Brooke, Aria, Sydney, Morgan, Kathryn and Madeline; one brother, Ted (Pat) Hill of Yreka, California; and one sister, Marge Benson of Lawrenceville, Georgia. She was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Henry Helman; two brothers, John Wolcott and James Potter; and her parents, Horace and Minnie Hill. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, March 10, 2007 at 6:00 p.m. at the CONGDON FUNERAL HOME, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion, with Rev. Don Tremper of Immanuel Church of Gurnee officiating. Memorial donations in her memory may be made to Immanuel Church.
