Eufracio "Tony" Ynes, 84, of Zion, IL died November 14, 2013 at Vista Medical Center East in Waukegan. Tony was born October 24, 1929 in Tampa, Florida. He married Mary McClure on Novmeber 2, 1957. Tony served his country with the United States Army serving as a chef while stationed in Germany. He was also a dedicated manager and chef at the Howard Johnson Restaurant in Zion for 20 years, owner of the Lil' Bear Restaurant in Waukegan for 25 years, and managed the Arlington Racetrack restaurant, Saddles and Silks, for 15 years. Tony was a charter member serving as a volunteer EMT and Ambulance Driver for the Zion Civil Defense, he served as a Boy Scout Leader with Cub Pack #60. Tony's passion in life was cooking, and always had a meal ready for his family. He was also a Motorcycle enthusiast who continued to ride until he was 75 years old. Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Mary Ynes; 3 sons Michael (Vickey) Ynes, Robin (Mary Ellen) Ynes, and Barry Ynes; 6 grandchildren Lisa Rhoton, David Ynes, Matthew Ynes, Aliya Ynes, April Ynes, and Andrew Ynes; one great grandson Aaron Kuzmin; and a brother Joe Ynes. He was preceded in death by his father and mother Jose and Vincenta Ynes; and an infant daughter Sherri Lynn Ynes. A visitation will be held on Saturday, November 23, 2013 from 4:00 until 5:00 p.m. at the Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion. A Funeral service will follow at 5:00 p.m. Interment will be private for the family.
