Evelyn Ruth Peterson (nee Mann), 93, of Zion, died on Friday, September 7, 2007 at Arbor View Nursing Home in Zion. Evelyn was born July 3, 1914 in Zion and graduated from Zion Parochial School. She was a member of Christian Catholic Church from 1914 to 1967, Immanuel Baptist Church from 1967 to 1998 and Christ Community Church from 1998 until present. She was a homemaker and was also involved with the Christian Catholic Church Dorcus Sewing group, Gideon's International Women's Work, various church and home prayer groups and Child Evangelism Fellowship. During World War II, she worked for Metropolitan Life Insurance Company while Clifford was serving in the South Pacific. She is the beloved mother of Janet (Loren) Storey of Zion, Larry (Doris) Peterson of Zion, Marilyn (Darwin) Borden of Minneapolis, Minnesota, Marjorie (Brian) Monaghan of Chicago, Illinois and Craig Peterson of Zion. She is also survived by nine grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Clifford W. Peterson, who she married December 22, 1932 in Zion; her parents Arthur and Annie Mann; brothers Herbert Mann, Horace Mann and Wilbur Mann; and one grandson Drew Arthur Borden. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 11, 2007, from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at Christ Community Church, 2500 Dowie Memorial Drive, Zion, followed by a funeral service at the Church at 7:00 p.m., Pastor Ken Langley officiating. Private interment will be later at Benton-Greenwood Cemetery, Benton Township, Illinois. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Camp Zion, a ministry of Christ Community Church, have been suggested
