Florence (nee Peters) Alshouse, 93, of Zion, IL went to be with the Lord on March 16, 2014 at home.
Florence was born May 20, 1920 in Zion, IL and was a life long resident. On June 28, 1941, she married Clayton Alshouse at Christian Assembly of God Church in Zion. She retired from Leech Bridges in 1985, which gave her more time to spend with her beloved Clayton. In her free time, Florence enjoyed family get-togethers, having lunch with friends, knitting, gardening, and shopping.
Survivors include her children, Connie (Randall) Anderson of Naperville, IL and Linda Clark of Katy, TX; grandchildren, Cynthia Clark, Crissie Clark-Boyd, Claudia Clark, John Clark III, and Katie Minott; and 16 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Clayton Alshouse; grandson, Scott Anderson; parents, Otto and Bertha Peters; and 8 siblings.
Visitation will be Sunday, March 23, 2013, from 6:00 until 7:30 p.m. at Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion, where a service will follow at 7:30 p.m. Private entombment will be held later at Mt. Olivet Memorial Park, Zion. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Zion Historical Society, 1300 Shiloh Blvd., Zion, IL 60099.
