Frank Anthony Debevic 91, of Kenosha, WI passed away surrounded by his family on November 26, 2021. He was born on April 1, 1930 in Waukegan, IL the son of Frank J. and Amelia (née Harding) Debevic. Frank grew up in Waukegan and graduated from Waukegan High School in 1949. Shortly after high school Frank joined the Air Force and was stationed in New York. While he was stationed there he met the love of his life Janis Louise Exford, and they were married on November 27, 1955 in Watertown, New York.
Shortly after, Frank and Janis settled in Waukegan, IL where Frank worked for Illinois Bell from 1956 until his retirement in 1992. Frank and Janis enjoyed their retirement. They moved back to New York in 1992 where they owned and operated a beautiful bed and breakfast called The Debevic Homestead for twelve years. Frank enjoyed restoring furniture, boats, and cars. If Frank wasn't working on a wood project, you would find him at the local lakes and rivers fishing. In 2013,Frank and Janis returned to the Kenosha area to be closer to their children.
Frank is survived by his wife Janis, children; Mark (Kim) Debevic, Linda (Bob) Berzin, grandchildren; Michael VanCleve, Erica Berzin, Laura Berzin, Lyle Berzin, Mike great-grandchildren; Aubrey VanCleve, Cooper VanCleve, and Mikey Debevic several nieces, nephews, cousins.
Frank was preceded in death by his parents, and brother, John (Kathy) Debevic.
A Memorial Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 7, 2021 from 4:00 - 5:00 p.m. followed by a memorial service at 5:00 p.m. at Congdon Funeral Home 3012 Sheridan Rd, Zion, Illinois 60099.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Hospice Alliance in Kenosha, WI or Alzheimer's Association in Chicago, IL.
