Gary Leith Eppers

Gary Leith Eppers, 77, of Wadsworth, IL passed away on September 25, 2023 surrounded by his loving family and friends. He was born on September 21, 1946 in Waukegan, IL the son of Leith and Leona Eppers.

Gary was a firefighter/paramedic, for the Zion Fire/Rescue Department until his retirement in 1996. He enjoyed spending time with his sons, fishing, yard work, and he loved his dogs. Over the years, his entrepreneurial spirit led him to being co-owner of a successful sign business, ostrich rancher, and integral part of the family farm in Antioch, IL with 2,000 acres under cultivation.

He is survived by his loving wife, Candace Eppers; sons, Alan (Amy) Eppers, and Glen (Corinna) Eppers; grandchildren, Emily and Kelsey; sisters, Janet and Diane; nieces and nephews.

Gary is preceded in death by his parents; and numerous family and friends.

Memorial visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 11, 2023 at 4:00 p.m. until the time of the service at 6:00 p.m. at Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Rd. Zion, IL 60099. Innichment will take place at Mt. Olivet Memorial Park, Zion, IL.
