Her father, William, worked in the dry goods department. Later, She helped her husband, Robert, run and manage Peters Paint Store on South Sheridan Road, in Zion for many years. In later years, she worked part-time at the Zion Post Office, where she would get up early in morning and drive a vehicle to pick up mail at the various drop boxes, and also sorted mail, amongst other duties. she was preceded in death by her husband Robert in 1994, after 70 years of marriage; grandsons David Alan Peters and Tim Fisher; brothers William, Elmer, Raymond and Rowland; sisters Mildred (Erwin) Craig; and infant sister Louella. Survivors include one daughter Marjorie (Ron) Fisher of St. Petersburg, Florida; one son Robert E. (Peggy) Peters of Zion; seven grandchildren Jim (Debbie) Peters of Godley, Illinois, Lori (Rob) Cashbaugh of Snellville, Georgia, Kim (Larry) Rittenhouse of Zion, Darren (Tracy) Smith of Winthrop Harbor, Todd (Mary) Smith of Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin, Doug (Angie) Fisher of St. Petersburg, Florida and Beverly (Terry) Powell of Charlotte, North Carolina; twenty great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
