Glenda Sue Brown, 73, longtime resident of Zion and Winthrop Harbor, Illinois, died on Thursday, February 11, 2010 at Goshen General Hospital in Goshen, Indiana.
Glenda was born July 7, 1936 in Red Bay, Alabama and came to Zion in 1957. She retired in 1996 as Librarian for the Waukegan Public Library. She was a member of Zion-Benton Women of the Moose. Glenda was an avid reader and she enjoyed cooking.
Survivors include her two sons, Terrell Brown of Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin and Mark (Kay) Brown of Arkadelphia, Arkansas; six grandchildren, Jerry Jump, Rhiannon Jump, Matthew Jump, Leann Wurtzinger, Alanna Brown and Alyssa Brown; and three great-grandchildren, Portia Jump, Lanie Jump and Logan Wurtzinger.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Regina Jump; one sister, Bobbie Rose Boyd; and her parents, Arlin and Blanche Lindley.
Visitation will be Saturday, February 20, 2010, from 1:00 until 3:00 p.m. at the CONGDON FUNERAL HOME, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion, where a funeral service will follow at 3:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Memorial Park, Zion.
