Glenda Clark, 85,of Beach Park, Illinois, and Estero, Florida, passed away peacefully at her home on June 10, 2024.
Born May 8, 1939, in Zion, Illinois, Glenda lived her life as a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who loved her family dearly. Glenda and her husband owned and operated Clark’s Lounge in Waukegan, Illinois for 36 years. She was a member of Memorial United Methodist Church in Zion, where she was married to her husband in 1956.Throughout her life, Glenda was a member of various organizations, including the Moose Club in Zion, the Queen bees of Zion Red Hat Society, Dunesland Garden Club, Zion Women’s Golf League, and the Elks Lodge in Bonita Springs, Florida. Her love of travel took her on many exciting journeys across the country with her husband in their RV. Her passions included shopping, golfing, traveling, flower gardening, and most of all, spending time with her family. She will be deeply missed by her family and those who knew her.Glenda is survived by her daughter, Leah (Don) Straight; five grandchildren, Nicole (Clayton) Schaefer, Carli (Nick) Mojonnier, Jaide (Mike) Janota, Andrew Straight, and Abigail Straight; great-grandchildren, Madeleine Janota, and LoganMojonnier.She was preceded in death by her husband, Chuck Clark; daughter Rhonda Christenson; brother,Jim Booth; and parents, Alvie and Reva Booth.A visitation will be held on Friday, June 14, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon at Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion. A funeral service will follow at 12:00 noon at the funeral home with Pastor Kwadwo Ntim, officiating. Entombment will follow at Mt. Olivet Memorial Park, Zion.
