Harry J. Kyrk, 83, of Waukegan, IL died on Friday, February 25, 2012 at Libertyville Manor.
He was born September 8, 1928 in Zion. Harry served with United States Army during World War II from 1946 to 1948 and was awarded the Occupation Medal-Japan, and the WWII Victory Medal. He married Audrey Jensen on March 26, 1982. He retired in 1988 from Abbotts after 35 years.
Survivors include his wife, Audrey; son, Reed (Rochelle) Kyrk of Skillman , N.J.; two granddaughters Audra and Veronica Kyrk; one sister Margaret (Glenn) Rundbloom of Wildwood, IL; two sisters-in-law Merle Kyrk and Beverly Kyrk; and several nieces and one nephew.
He was preceded in death by two brothers Charles and Homer Kyrk; one sister Irene (the late Lee) Holverson; and his father and mother Homer and Genevieve Kyrk.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, February 29, 2012, from 3:00 until 5:00 p.m. at the CONGDON FUNERAL HOME, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 5:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Chaplain Craig Wennstrom officiating and private cremation to follow. Memorial donations to a charity of your choice has been suggested.
