Harvey Holland

Harvey H. Holland, 73, of Beach Park, IL went to join his wife Cindie in Heaven on Tuesday, July 1, 2014. Harvey was born on February 13, 1941 in Red Bay, Alabama. He was a member of the Moose Club, a Trustee of Benton Township, and the Captain of N & T's Social Club and Welcome Committee. He enjoyed many years of service at American Motors, Munder Color, and North Point Marina. Harvey was married to his wife Cynthia Jo Holland, nee Sandefur for 35 years until her passing in 2009 and they are survived by their children John Holland and Andrew (Meghan) Holland, and his beloved dog Echo. Harvey was married previously to Brenda Ivey for 11 years and is survived by his son Randy (Michelle) Holland and his grandchildren David and Nick, and his daughter Shawna (Mike) Bellefeuille and his grandchild Jada. He is survived by his children and his step-sister Malia (Chris) Szymanski, Brenda Deaton, Linda (John Wayne) Self, Connie Brown, Joel (Debbie) Aldridge, and Mark Aldridge. Harvey was preceded in death by his parents Idenis and Rosie Holland, three infant brothers, his brothers Olyon (Nona) Holland and Carl (Felicia) Holland and his wife Cynthia. Harvey was blessed with an abundance of additional relatives through blood, marriage, and the extension of his friendship: "Hey, did you hear the one about. . ." A memorial service will be held Saturday, July 5th 2014 at 3:00pm at CONGDON FUNERAL HOME, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion, with Pastor Mike Brown of First Baptist Church of Winthrop Harbor officiating. Visitation will be Saturday from 12:00pm until time of services at the funeral home.
