Harvey Slusser, 85, died on Thursday, September 3, 2015 at home.
He was born in Waukegan and lived in this area all of his life. Harvey served with the United States Army in Germany during the Korean Conflict. He retired from North Shore Gas Co. in 1968 and then started his own business, American Music Inc. of Waukegan. Harvey was an avid bowler and enjoyed golfing but most of all he loved his family, friends and his beloved dog “Murphy”.
Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Pat; children David Slusser, Lorrie (Tony) White, Brian (Juana) Slusser, and Terry (Nicole) Slusser; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sister Donna (Teyo) Gonzalez; brother Greg (Elinor) Slusser; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his daughter Lisa Slusser; siblings Ormay (and the late Walter) Tyzenhaus and Richard (and the late Jackie) Slusser; and his parents Theodore and Zola Slusser.
Visitations will be Friday, September 11, 2015, from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the CONGDON FUNERAL HOME, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion, and again on Saturday, September 12th, from 9:00 until 10:00 a.m. followed by a procession to Ascension Cemetery, Libertyville.
