Hazel Parrish

Hazel Parrish (nee Christenson), of Zion, IL, passed away at Vista Medical Center in Waukegan on Thursday, February 9, 2017 with her daughters by her side at the age of 88. Hazel was born to Gus and Nancy Christenson on March 17, 1928 in Kenosha, WI. She is survived by her two daughters Judy (Richard) Beard of Grayslake, IL and Brenda (Jim) Johnson of Waukegan, IL; eight grandchildren Craig, Mark (Valarie), Ryan, and Andrew Forshee, Laurin (Eric) Burrow, Tracy (Ernie Perez) Johnson, and Jennifer and Crystal Hale; ten great-grandchildren; two sisters Barbara Currington of Wadsworth, IL and Ruthie Aaron of Zion, IL; and sister-in-law Beverly Christenson. She was preceded in death by her husband Merle Parrish in 1989; her parents Gus and Nancy Christenson; one son Larry Hale; one sister Isabell Cornett; and two brothers Eric and Carl Christenson. A memorial visitation will be held on Sunday, February 12, 2017, from 2:00 until 5:00 p.m. at the CONGDON FUNERAL HOME, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Lieukemia Foundation have been suggested.
