Helen Evelyn Kinsey (nee Jachim) Age 93, of Winthrop Harbor, IL died Wednesday, September 18, 2013. Born November 30, 1919 in North Chicago, she was the daughter of Sofia (Sus) and Paul Jachim. She spent most of her life in the North Chicago and Waukegan area, and attended Holy Rosary School. On August 30, 1947 in Holy Rosary Catholic Church, she married Edward Kinsey. She had been employed at Houdaille Hershey Corp. during World War II, Bernice the Florist in the early 1960s, and retired in 1984 from Abbott Laboratories after twenty years of service. She lived in Florida from 2005 to 2010 and then returned to Illinois where she lived with her son Dan. Through the years, she had been a member of Holy Family Church, Queen of Peach Church, and Our Lady of Humility Church. She was also a member of the Altar and Rosary Societies and Women's Clubs at the churches. She was a life member of the American Legion Auxiliary Sharvin Post 397 in North Chicago. Helen loved flowers and gardening, Polka music and shopping. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Bernadette and Jim Meisenheimer of Lakewood Ranch, Florida; her son Daniel of Winthrop Harbor, Illinois; and her granddaughter and her husband Morgan and Jimmy Nixon of Cary, Illinois; and by many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Edward Kinsey in May of 1962; by her brothers John, Walter, Joseph and her twin brother Adam; and by her sisters Mary, Olga, Millie and Emily. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 26, 2013 with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Humility Catholic Church, 10655 Wadsworth Road, Beach Park, IL. Visitation will be held at 9:00 AM at the church preceding mass and on Wednesday, September 25, 2013 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at the Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sherdidan Road, Zion, IL 60099. Memorial remembrances to Our Lady of Humility Catholic church would be appreciated by the family.
