Henry Ten Hagen Sahler III

1952 — July 8, 2017

Henry T. Sahler III, 65, long time resident of the Zion area and more recently of Lake Villa, IL died on Saturday, July 8, 2017 at Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights, IL.

He was born June 8, 1952 in Joliet, IL and graduated from Joliet High School.  For many years he was employed in civil service at Glenview Naval Air Station as a military policeman.  Henry was a veteran of United States Army and was stationed in Germany with a tank division as a tank driver.  Henry also worked part time as a dispatcher for Zion Police Department, was a volunteer with Emergency Services and Disaster Agency (ESDA) of Zion, and he volunteered with Reese’s Organization of Lake County, and he volunteered at REACT of Lake County.

He is survived by two daughters Charlotte (Tim Thomas) Sahler of Dothan AL and Jamie (Bill Perez) Peters of Sturtevant, WI; three grandchildren Desiree Peters, Kaitlyn Peters, and Kira Thomas; and his ex-wife Cheryl Schmidt of Lake Villa, IL.

He was preceded in death by one brother Alan; and his parents Henry T. and Charlotte Ann (nee Jones) Sahler.

A visitation will be held on Monday, July 17, 2017, from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the CONGDON FUNERAL HOME, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion, IL.  Interment with full military honors will take place on Tuesday, July 18th, at 11:30 a.m. at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood, IL.  Memorial donations to the family have been suggested.
